“Yedyny Kvartal” Charity Concerts and TV Recordings to Mark the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine's Independence

The musical “You Are Romance” by MUR is Ukraine’s first original historical rap musical, transporting the audience back to the 1920s and 1930s and revealing the world of Ukraine’s “Executed Renaissance” through lively dialogue, poetry, and music.

Description:

The audience chooses to view the events of “Stolen Happiness” through the eyes of Anna, who experiences a story of love, betrayal, and choice. Reality obeys strange rules—events repeat themselves, and people seem to be acting out a script. Anna moves between “levels,” interacts with characters, and uncovers new fragments of the story, but the further she goes, the more the system malfunctions. And it becomes unclear: is this life or a game, and is it even possible to win here?

Serhiy Zhadan presents a grand charity poetry evening in Kyiv!

“Hymns of the Baroque Wars” is a new collection of poetry, prose, and graphics by Serhiy Zhadan, to be published this fall by Meridian Czeowitz.

On September 20, at the National Palace of Arts “Ukraine”—the country’s premier stage—the Kyiv presentation of the collection will take place, combining text, light, and music. Good friends are helping to make this evening a reality: the event’s general partner, “First Private Brewery,” as well as the technology company blago.

In the chamber space of the Teatroom Palace «Ukraine» september 20 — performance «Queen of Beauty» — black comedy with elements of psychological drama that will not leave indifferent.

The play deals with themes of emotional dependence, loneliness, inner captivity and attempts to break out of the closed circle of everyday life. The production was performed by Pavlo Shpegun —, a Ukrainian actor and director, a representative of a new generation of Ukrainian theater artists. Since 2018, Pavlo has been an actor at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater in Kyiv.

“Goizum” based on Heinrich von Kleist’s play “The Broken Jug”

During a night storm in a village, a jug is broken — a seemingly mundane event, but it ends up in court. The judge, witnesses, and victims are all gathered to determine who is at fault. But the longer the hearing goes on, the more confusing the story becomes, and the truth itself becomes less and less convenient for those present. At the center is an absurd investigation that gradually reveals not only the mystery of one jug, but also deeper cracks in people, in the system, and in the concept of justice.

This fall, on October 9, 10, and 11, the Ukraine Palace will be filled with energy, light, music, and an unforgettable, inspiring drive!

The ROCK SYMPHONY Orchestra – 140 artists on stage – ROCK BAND, ORCHESTRA, CHOIR led by a charismatic CONDUCTOR and 8 UNSURPASSED SOLOISTS, the atmosphere of a grand spectacle, combining powerful musical compositions and an incredible light show, creates a space for inspiration and emotional renewal, vivid feelings and enjoyment of every moment.

Ivan Nebesny’s ballet “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” is a story of earthly and heavenly love based on Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky’s legendary novella, with music by Ivan Nebesny and a libretto by Vasyl Vovkun.

This poetic tale, straddling the line between reality and legend, fact and fantasy, will unfold before the audience through the modevision of an inteational team of creators. The well-known love story of Ivan and Marichka, from two feuding families, will be brought to life through the neoclassical choreography of Artem Shoshyn. The spectacular set design by Lithuanian artist Arvidas Buinauskas transports the characters into a contemporary postmodeworld and offers a philosophical reinterpretation of humanity’s place within nature. The artistic imagery of the ballet’s characters will be complemented by costumes designed by Natalia Mishchenko, which reinterpret Hutsul attire, ranging from authentic to modestyles.

Alexander Rodin’s ballet “Solaris,” based on the cult novel by world-renowned science fiction writer Stanisław Lem, has captivated the world not only in its literary form but also in its cinematic adaptation.

The ballet “Solaris,” set to music by contemporary composer Alexander Rodin and with a libretto by Vasyl Vovkun, is more than just science fiction. It is a jouey into the depths of human consciousness, where reality collides with illusions, and the mind encounters the unfathomable Cosmos. The planet Solaris, shrouded in a mysterious ocean, forces the characters to face their own fears and emotions, to seek the truth and the true meaning of existence. The production is a choreographic creation by ballet director Kateryna Kurman. The stunning, fantastical sets and costumes are the work of the talented and progressive set designer Svitlana Reinish. The palette of cosmic impressions is complemented by Alexander Mezentsev’s masterful lighting design.

Victoria Polova’s ballet fairy tale “Mavka” is a tragic love story on the border between two worlds, a subtle psychological drama enveloped in the elemental beauty of nature. The production’s fantastic music, exquisite choreography, and visual magic will immerse you in a world where myth and reality intertwine.

An inteational team of artists worked on the production: choreographer Artem Shoshin (assistant—Tetyana Kuruglu), librettist and director Vasyl Vovkun, set designer Arvidas Buinauskas (Lithuania), and costume designer Natalia Mishchenko.

This new theatrical marvel, inspired by the fairy-tale drama “The Forest Song” by the legendary poet Lesya Ukrainka, is a wonderful idea for a family theater weekend, where the magic will captivate children and the depth of the plot will resonate with adults.
