The musical “You Are Romance” by MUR is Ukraine’s first original historical rap musical, transporting the audience back to the 1920s and 1930s and revealing the world of Ukraine’s “Executed Renaissance” through lively dialogue, poetry, and music.

At the center are the figures of the artists of the “Slovo” House, in particular Mykola Khvylovy and Volodymyr Sosyura, who appear not as bronze names from textbooks, but as people with their own choices, doubts, and passions. This is not only a story about the tragedy of a generation, but also an attempt to feel their creative energy, which, despite destruction, continues to live on in Ukrainian culture today.

The play’s tour became a major event that brought together tens of thousands of viewers and turned into a cultural movement with a strong social and charitable impact.
