Restoration of the Ukraine Palace after shelling
As a result of the Russian missile attack on December 31, 2022, the building of the National Palace “Ukraine” was severely damaged, namely:
- Over 100 unique stained glass windows were destroyed
- Corridors were destroyed
- Offices on all floors of the building
- Over 70% of the facade of the Ukraine Palace was destroyed and partially damaged
It is important to note that the National Palace of Arts “Ukraine” does not receive any funds from the state. The Palace “Ukraine” has no budgetary funding. It did not receive any state financial assistance either during the COVID-19 pandemic or during the full-scale invasion!
We announced a fundraiser to restore the Ukraine Palace, and thanks to donations from caring Ukrainians, we were able to raise about 200,000 hryvnia in a few months!
Unfortunately, these funds were not enough to install even one large stained-glass window.
In early 2024, we turned to DTEK, which has been supporting the Palace for four years, for help! And thanks to the energy companies of the DTEK Group and Rinat Akhmetov, we received financial support for the restoration of the Ukraine National Palace after the enemy missile attack!
Thanks to this support, we completed the restoration work in mid-August 2023 and held the first concerts at the end of August of the same year.
