From December 24, 2021, to January 5, 2022, the stage of the Palace “Ukraine” with the support of the Mastercard payment system and Oschadbank will host the premiere of the New Year’s musical for the whole family – “The New Snow Queen”.

This Broadway-style musical on such a large scale and for such a large stage will be presented to Kyiv residents and guests of the capital for the first time in Ukraine during the entire decade of New Year holidays.
For the first time, the queen of the Ukrainian stage, the unsurpassed Olya Polyakova, will perform in a new role.

“I am very pleased to become the main character of this festive show and I can honestly say that it was my long-held dream! The Snow Queen has always been a mystery to me. Why is she so majestic but cold? Doesn’t she have a heart? What secret does she hide? You will find the answer to this question in our show! I am also pleased that thousands of children whose parents cannot afford expensive tickets will see our show, because when I was little, I could not attend such big holidays in the capital… I am also very glad that we will be able to invite children from boarding schools and orphanages who are deprived of parental care to each show. That is why I did not hesitate and gladly accepted the offer to play the role of the Snow Queen.”

- shared Olya Polyakova.

A team of Ukraine’s best artists is involved in the creation of the musical: the original script was written by the authors of Kvartal 95 studio, the original music is by one of the most famous composers of modern Ukraine, Dmitry Saratsky, and the show will be directed and choreographed by Alexander Leshchenko, known for his large-scale productions in Ukraine and abroad.

The exclusive scenography and set design for the show was developed over several months by StarLight Scenery, Ukraine’s largest set design company. This voluminous three-tiered and high-tech iceberg will impress even the most demanding viewer.

The show will feature the best circus performers and dancers of Ukraine, including special guests – a unique LED dance group from Dnipro, Light Balance (winners of America’s Got Talent, 2017).

The audience will also be treated to a stunning surprise – one of the brightest and most outrageous artists on the contemporary Ukrainian stage will play an unexpected role.

So, the musical is set in the modern world of the Internet these days. The amazing story of Kai’s adventures will sound modern, dynamic and relevant. There will also be a favorite of children, but an unexpected character for this particular fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

The Danish storyteller’s work is brilliant: both for children and the most adult in the world. Like all brilliant works, this fairy tale is inexhaustible in its meanings: it is eternal and always new, never gets old and never gets boring. Especially when its interpretation is approached as befits a real Palace – with a scope, ingenuity, understanding of the sophistication of a new generation of viewers and offering them cool technologies, bright scenery, digital screens, dynamism, modern and vivid musical and visual language and impressive creativity.

The New Year’s tree is a long-standing tradition of the Palace “Ukraine”, but this year we are reaching a new level of modern technological shows.

Thousands of viewers of all ages will plunge into the atmosphere of the New Year holidays. An hour before the New Year’s musical “The New Snow Queen” starts, every child will be able to enjoy a lot of activities, bright photo zones, animators and contests in the Palace lobby.

A miracle must happen during the New Year and Christmas holidays. And it will happen – at the Ukraine Palace!
