For the second time in the chamber space of Teatroom of the Palace “Ukraine” on September 27 and 28 — the play “Beauty Queen” — a black comedy with elements of psychological drama that will not leave anyone indifferent.
The play raises the themes of emotional dependence, loneliness, internal captivity and attempts to escape from the vicious circle of everyday life.

The production was carried out by Pavlo Shpehun — a Ukrainian actor and director, a representative of the new generation of Ukrainian theater artists.

Since 2018, Pavlo has been an actor of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater in Kyiv.

In December 2023, he made his debut as a theater director with a production of Martin McDonagh’s play “The Beauty Queen”, at the acting course of the S. Kalantay and I. Kapinos workshop. This performance became his
first independent directorial project, marking a new stage in his creative career.

The performance “The Beauty Queen” is part of the program “Workshop of the Future” – a creative cluster for new names, fresh ideas and bold productions. We support young directors, authors and actors who create modern Ukrainian theater.

Tearoom is a chamber space of the Palace “Ukraine”, created for a live dialogue with the audience. Here, not only the stage is closer, but also the emotion. The space opens a new page of modern theater – intimate, bold, sensitive to reality.
