Repair and replacement of the drainage system

Repair and replacement of the drainage system

During the construction of the Ukraine Palace, a unique system of internal drainage was developed and created. Water from the roof was collected and intercepted by separate gutters and then distributed through internal drainage pipes built into the walls. After 50 years of operation, the entire system had fallen into disrepair, with water flowing down the walls in some places and mold appearing in some rooms.

To solve the repair issue, a project was needed to replace and reconstruct the drains, which would require time and significant funding, given the large roof area of 3,700 square meters, the specific design of the building, and its height.

  • Bringing the project documentation into line with existing building standards.
  • Repairing emergency sections of the sewerage system by replacing steel pipes with cast iron pipes from the German company Düker.
  • Replacement of horizontal parts of the storm sewer system (gutters) in the large banquet hall, above the stage, and in the administrative complex of the building.
  • Replacement of vertical parts of the storm sewer system (risers) in the administrative complex of the building.
